European Quartet One Melody

The authentic historical centre here, mostly dating back to the 16th century, has been protected by UNESCO since 1992. This includes the monumental complex of Krumlov Castle and Chateau, which is the second largest chateau complex in the Czech Republic after Prague Castle. We recommend that you start your tour of the picturesque Český Krumlov with a visit to the chateau complex, where the unique Baroque theatre is also to be found, one of only two in the world to have been preserved in its original form. End your tour of the historical halls with a walk in the chateau gardens.

It is a true experience to have lunch in one of the picturesque restaurants in Český Krumlov, for example in the old Bohemian eatery, U Dvou Marií or in one of the fish restaurants. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the historical town centre including the square or the Egon Schiele Art Centre, where you can view an exhibition about this eminent Czech-Austrian artist or one of the many other temporary exhibitions of modern art.

(Prague – Český Krumlov: 177 km, 2 hours and 45 minutes).
