One of the most spectacular and most visited Slovak rivers is the river Belá, where both beginners and seasoned water lovers can enjoy unique moments in the water. Less demanding experiences are navigating the romantic Váh canyon, which meanders through the Veľká Fatra Mountains, under the Strečno castle ruins; or enjoying the delightful natural surroundings when navigating the river Orava. sailing down the Dunajec River on wooden rafts offers an unforgettable experience in the splendid natural scenery of the Pieniny National Park. Rafting is one of the greatest tourist attractions of northern Slovakia. The best known route is rafting down the Prielom Dunajca from the village Červený Kláštor. The end of the route is near the chalet Pieniny where one can visit the Gorale, a group of indigenous people. Here you can listen to goral music and taste goral specialties.

A pleasant way to warm up during long winter months is to relax in thermal swimming pools and aqua parks. Most visitors opt to combine a skiing holiday with a break to enjoy the relaxing thermal waters of nearby aqua parks. Swimming in thermal water while admiring the view of hilltops covered with snow is simply unforgettable. Such a great combination can be found at the aqua parks in the Vysoké Tatry and Liptov regions. For those that don’t like to ski, the beneficial effects of the thermal waters can also be enjoyed separately. You can choose from more than 15 aqua parks and thermal swimming pools operated year-round, across Slovakia, with many offering their own accommodation. In addition to outdoor and indoor swimming pools, the aqua parks offer also toboggans, wellness services, saunas, whirlpools, fitness, sports facilities, and playgrounds for children, adrenaline attractions and a wide choice of catering facilities and bars. Many aqua parks provide their visitors with family and other discounts such as loyalty discount cards, gift vouchers and service packages.
