Piast Race in Jakuszyce
It is one of the largest cross-country skiing events in Europe.

zklarska Poreba and its surroundings is the largest cross-country skiing resort in Poland and Central Europe offering enthusiasts of this sort of recreation, 150km of runs. Specifically, Jakuszycka Polana is known for its ideal conditions for cross-country skiing. Each year the Piast Race, an international ski event for over 30 years, is organised here. The event organiser is Julian Gozdowski. Since 1995 the Piast Race has been included in the European League of Long-Distance Races Euroloppet and from 2008 became one of the members of the world League Worldlopped and won the title of Best Mass Event 2009.

Every year over 4000 cross-country skiing fans race on runs in the Izera Mountains. The key competitions that take place within the Piast Race include the Main Piast Race over 50k (classic technique), the Piast Race over 50k (freestyle technique),  the 26k Race (classic technique), the 30km Race (freestyle technique), the Kindergarten Race and the Scout Polar Expedition. The Piast Race takes place annually on a weekend in March. The year 2011, will be the 35th anniversary of this race.
