European Quartet One Melody

The Cserhát mountain range rises in north-eastern Hungary, 92km from Budapest. The village, which has managed to preserve the unique features of northern (upland) architecture, was put on the World Heritage list in 1987. The heritage site extends to all 55 historical buildings and a natural reserve ranging over 141ha. The buildings of the Old Village were all erected at the turn of the century, following the last major fire that swept the settlement in 1909. The new structures were built in faithful reflection of the architectural style developed over the centuries.
