Fine Dining Week is an occasion for fine dining enthusiasts to explore the world of unparalleled quality, honed tradition and innovation – coming together to create an epicurean experience that is both timeless and momentous. The event challenges its guests to consider how the craft of preparing a meal has evolved into the art of gourmet living. Paweł Światczyński, founder of Fine Dining Week, explains his motivation in bringing the idea to life: The festival is meant to demonstrate and exemplify precisely what is understood by the term ‘fine dining.’ We want to show our guests what the culinary arts can achieve at the highest level. This is why, over the last week of August, the finest restaurants in the capital are composing signature five-course menus meant to leave a lasting impression on their guests.

The culture of fine dining is made up of: gourmet quality, exclusivity, locality, freshness, the art of flavor pairing, and mastery in creating a multi-sensory experience for the most discerning diners. As Rafał Hreczaniuk, head chef of Dyletanci restaurant remarks, The gourmet quality in fine dining cuisine is based on an exemplary dish, top-shelf and often difficult to procure. Its high price is the sum of the effort and artistry put into its uncanny preparation. Other qualities of high cuisine, such as locality and seasonality, are the only way of assuring the freshness of the resulting dish. A multi-sensory experience is the fruit of the chef’s experience and creativity – a constant play with structure, consistency and their sensory effects upon the guest’s palate.

The culture of fine restaurant dining is just dawning in Poland. One of the main goals of the festival is to introduce new guests to the highest level of culinary artistry and provide an occasion for a full-faceted, multi-sensory experience of fine dining to a greater audience of epicures and future epicures.

Bon apetit!
