Most likely on the 9th of July, the World Heritage Committee, which will gather for a week in Krakow, will decide whether Tarnowskie Mountains will be placed on the world's most important monuments list.

The World Heritage Committee is composed of representatives from 21 countries: Angola, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Croatia, Cuba, Philippines, Finland, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Peru, Portugal, Tanzania, Tunisia, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. And Poland (last year in the committee)

Members will decide whether the "Lead, silver and zinc mines & underground water management system in the Tarnowskie Mountains" will be on the prestigious UNESCO List. From all the nominations from over the globe, this will be the only industrial facility.

The Committee will debate between 7 and 10 July. Up to 35 conclusions can be made. There is no competition because each candidate is considered individually. Voting on Tarnowskie Góry will take place on Sunday, July 9th. In order for a business to succeed, "YES" must vote 2/3 of the members of the Committee - 14 countries.

Fingers crossed!
