It is good to be snowed in Slovakia!
Winter sports are very popular in Slovakia, large part of the country has a mountainous topography and is covered by snow for a half or greater part of the year. Slovakia is densely laced by a net of ski-tows and ski-lifts.

The best known and largest resort in Central Europe is at Jasna, Low Tatras. It has the best downhill runs and cross-country ski tracks and is very boarder friendly. The well equipped board park offer excellent jumps, ramps and rail-slides.

Need a break from ski slopes? Try skating, snowtubing or snowrafting. Or get in touch with your inner child - tobogganing is back! If adrenaline is your thing - you have to try kitewing. Kitewing is an ultra light wing developed specially for skiing, snowboarding or skating. You hold the wing in your bare hands without any rope or other fastening. You can manoeuvre using the wind and at the nearest roughness of the surface you rebound and you fly. One can fly for up to 100m with a kitewing. You can also enjoy the Slovak countryside from the bird's eye perspective with paragliding or hang-gliding.
Would you like to try something different? How about dog-sleigh ride? You should not miss such an opportunity in Štrbské pleso ski resort in the High Tatras.

And after all the vigorous exercise, there is nothing like pampering and relaxing in the water. The choice is yours - spas at hotels, aquaparks specially favorite with children and open-air swimming pools with thermal water. Ahhh, now that is a vacation!
